Once again, SAT-7 PARS has stepped up the level of quality and professionalism in program production with the addition of freelance animator and designer Maral Karaee.

Maral is currently creating children’s animated music videos, as well as providing animation and design for the children’s show Carrousel. Incorporating animation into the programs is making them more attractive and more effective in capturing kids’ imaginations.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and a master’s degree in Computer Animation, Maral started working with SAT-7 as a freelancer in February 2012. She has always wanted to work with children and show them a different side of life than the manipulation and fear she experienced as a child growing up in Iran. Maral expressed her convictions, saying, “I strongly believe that we have to show our kids that a bright side exists, that trust, hope, and happiness still exist…I want to show them that God is love and not fear.”

There are over 34.5 million children under 15 in the Farsi-speaking world, and as Maral says, “it’s their right to receive the unconditional love of God.” The channel aims to produce more Christian programs for kids that contain more of Persian culture and traditions, educating Farsi-speaking children to be better communicators. In order to tackle such a magnanimous task, Maral recruited a team of five interns from local universities to support the studio’s projects.

In the future, Maral’s goal is to develop a multimedia production studio at SAT-7 PARS, which will create educational and entertaining programs for Farsi-speaking children. This will include a special focus on kids in Afghanistan, Iran, and Tajikistan. Maral shares, “Kids are the future of any country and on a bigger scale, and they are the future of the world. Therefore, good education is an important factor to which we have to pay special attention.”
