Conference and Program to Help Women

Many women in the Middle East struggle to raise families on their own because their husbands have died, deserted them, or have left the country for years on end to seek employment elsewhere, or have effectively abandoned their families through an addiction to drugs or alcohol. Jesus loves these women and SAT-7 also cares about them.  Over the past year, SAT-7 ARABIC has broadcast a series of documentaries that show the severe plight of such women. The objective of these broadcasts is to help transform society's negative view to one of sympathy and support.

SAT-7 ARABIC has also been broadcasting a live talk show to discuss the challenges facing “Female Headed Households."  Earlier this month in Cairo, SAT-7 brought together seventy people representing local media and Egyptian non-governmental agencies (NGO’s) to discuss how they can work together to improve the lives of these women. The meeting was lead by the Egyptian NGO, Alliance for Arab Women.  SAT-7 believes this meeting was seen as a milestone that helped the secular NGO’s see Christian media as a powerful tool that can help support the many women in the region who are struggling, often desperately, to provide for their families.
