Matching Grant Campaign Closes Only $17,317 Short!

Ministry is thankful for donations given during time of great economic difficulty. Continued help still needed

With much gratitude, SAT-7 would like to thank every individual, church and organization that gave during its special end-of-year matching campaign.

“We are extremely appreciative of everyone who has given to SAT-7, ever since the launch of this ministry, but especially over the last two months. We know these are difficult economic times for many of our supporters, but their generous support demonstrates how vitally important they believe SAT-7 is in the lives of millions of viewers who live in an area stretching from Morocco to Afghanistan,” says Terence Ascott, SAT-7 CEO.

Are Christian Athletes Weak

Shortly before December 2008, SAT-7 announced the launch of a special campaign with a goal of raising several million dollars. At that time a donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, pledged a large gift if others would also give to SAT-7. This donor pledged to triple all money given from new donors, up to two million dollars. He also pledged to double all gifts given from other, regular donors, up to 500,000 dollars.

In total, the possibility existed for friends of SAT-7 to raise four million dollars for the sake of the church in the Middle East and North Africa. But all monies had to be received by January 15, 2009

SAT-7 officials are pleased to announce that new donors gave a total of just under 1 million dollars (USD 982,683), and existing donors gave just slightly over USD 500,000. So at January 15, the campaign was only USD 17,317 short of the total goal!

In total, with gifts from new donors, existing donors, and the special triple/double match, a total of USD 3,948,049 was raised!

“Each Dollar, Euro, Kroner, and Pound given to this ministry is significant,” says David Harder, SAT-7 Communications Manager. “Those monies are all multiplied because SAT-7’s broadcasts are reaching and touching the lives of millions of people, in very difficult- to-reach places. Even the smallest gift is helping SAT-7 bring Christ’s message of love and hope directly into homes across the region.”

SAT-7 is seeking to raise a total of USD 14m for its 2009 budget and many additional gifts will be needed to meet that ambitious goal.
