SAT-7 News
and Prayer Letter | August 2008 |

Do you not know
that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in
such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes
into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we
do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Over the next month we will be hearing a lot about the Olympians gathered to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. While most of the worlds attention will be focused on the feats of these amazing athletes, and possibly also the pollution and political issues surrounding the games, I wonder how many of us in the Christian world are focusing our prayers for the struggling church within the China? |

Children love variety in their food, and in their TV shows. The Kid’s Café programme offers a “buffet” of choices presented by children for children. From their main set the two young hosts of the show take children on many adventures where they learn about nature, jobs they might one day have, arts and crafts, music and the show also includes small situation comedies in which young viewers can identify with the young actors and the problems they face. |

Very few homes can be described as “a paradise,” but in the greater Middle East, marriage relationships suffer some of the worst rates of abuse. Some of the most popular programmes ever to air on the network, based on the sheer number of responses, have to do with relationships and helping viewers heal their rifts. Counselling resources for couples are far and few in the region and people are desperate for tools to help improve their families and their marriages. |

TV viewers love comedy, and funny stories are often the best way to get across an important lesson to an audience. That’s the concept behind “Faces in a Family”, a SAT-7 situation comedy that stars some well known Lebanese actors. In this programme a well-to-do family of five, including three children (17 year old Tony, 14 year old Rogee, and 10 year old Samar). |
