SAT-7 News and Prayer Letter | July 2008

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

What a tragic world we live in. Across the Middle East and North Africa, war, terrorism and criminal activity destroy lives and families every day. At times I simply want to cry because of what I see in the news. But while I lament the loss of life, and pray for peace, I also see signs of hope.

Teachers of small children know that one of the very best ways for them to learn new ideas is through songs. In a new SAT-7 KIDS programme entitled "Colours" children will learn basic words, concepts and Bible lessons through songs, but those lessons will be brought to them in a way that they will really like.

SAT-7 PARS phone counsellors receive many contacts from viewers who have specific questions and want answers from the Bible. A new show entitled "With You" is answering those questions on air so that all viewers can benefit.

Throughout the rest of 2008 SAT-7 will be broadcasting a number of promotional spots and special programmes that will help viewers consider how they can build communities of peace. The first spot just began to air. It starts with a close up shot of a baby playing in a crib and slowly zooms out to reveal bombed-out buildings all around. John 16:33 then appears.
