A Great Light

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned…For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9: 2 & 6

During the Christmas season we often see images of the Wise Men who came from the East to worship the baby King Jesus.  Where did they come from exactly?  Many believe they came from around ancient Babylon or perhaps Persia, two regions influenced by the legacy of ancient prophets and Biblical heroes such as Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther.

The Wise Men probably knew from the ancient Biblical scriptures that a great king would be born someday in Israel, and when they saw the star in the heavens, they took it as a miraculous sign of his arrival.

Though two millennia have passed since the day when the “Light of the World” (John 1:4-5) came to earth, millions of people continue to live in darkness.  But as you read the news and prayer items in this letter, and especially the viewer’s comments, you will vividly see how God is shining His light through SAT-7, every day.
