SAT-7, one of Canada's most unique ministries, is poised for a new era of outreach to the Middle East and North Africa with a new executive director at its helm.

Erwin van Laar, an experienced leader in development, communications and fundraising in Canada, began his duties as SAT-7's executive director on Oct. 15.

Van Laar served as Chair of the Board of SAT-7 for the last three years and arrives at his new position with years of experience in Canada's leading ministry organizations — including The Canadian Bible Society and most recently Tyndale University College & Seminary. The Board, with van Laar, anticipates growth, expansion and even more innovative programming for SAT-7. 

SAT-7 is delighted to announce a new channel!  SAT-7 PLUS will launch 10th December 2010, on the HOT BIRD satellite system, replacing the two existing Arabic language channels on HOT BIRD:  SAT-7 ARABIC and SAT-7 KIDS.  These two channels will continue to be broadcast on the NILESAT satellite platform while the new channel, SAT-7 PLUS, will carry a selection of the best current programming from both channels.
