Welcome to the 2011 SAT-7 Day of Prayer. Certainly the region of the Middle East and North Africa has been in the news this year with revolutions, unrest and uncertainty. One of the most troubling facts for the 17 million Christians in this region is that large numbers of believers are fleeing. Since the fall of Saddam Hussein, roughly half the population of Iraqi Christians has fled. The impact of this exodus is great for the Christians and the societies of this region. Therefore, SAT-7 invites you to join with us in prayer specifically regarding this issue of Christian migration across this region.
The video clip above, which is one in a series airing presently on SAT-7 ARABIC, paints another portrait of the face of Christianity in the region – Christians who are faithful, prayerful and committed to persevere in hard through difficult days. We also ask that you would join us in praise and in prayer for the Lord's faithful people who are still in this region. Praise Him that they are perseverant. Pray that they would be encouraged and protected. Our CEO, Terry Ascott, shares his thoughts in his blog highlighting the need for us all to open our hearts and minds and to be diligent in prayer for our brothers and sisters in the Middle East and North Africa. Have a look at Terry's blog then come back and share with us how you are led to pray on behalf of the Church in this region. Post a prayer here. |
