Not Ashamed

“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15

In many ways this Bible verse encapsulates the SAT-7 Ethos.  We are Christians, and we “are not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes,” Romans 1:12.

But, at the same time, we want our viewers to see us as a friendly and courteous neighbor, one they would enjoy inviting into their home.  That is why we choose to present the gospel and to answer our viewer’s questions “with gentleness and respect.”  We believe this approach is working, and recent data shows we are in fact being welcomed into millions of homes.

Data for audience research recently reported by an independent, secular research firm (which studies many channels in the Middle East and North Africa) has found that in 2009:

  • SAT-7 ARABIC had a viewership of 8-9 million viewers
  • SAT-7 KIDS had a viewership of 4-5 million viewers
(note-these numbers include daily and occasional viewers)

And these figures were collected before we began broadcasting on the Nilesat frequency (in October) which we believe has significantly increased those figures.

If you add in our Farsi channel (SAT-7 PARS) and our Turkish channel (SAT-7 TÜRK) our total audience is at least 15 million people per year!

Your prayers are helping millions of people in the Middle East and North Africa receive a friendly explanation of Christ’s Good News every week!

In His Service Together,
