Blessed are the Peacemakers

In Iran recent presidential elections ended in turmoil and the surprise outpouring of people on the streets demanding a full and open accounting to determine the true winner.  Sadly some protesters have been killed, and no one knows yet what the final outcome of the political struggle will be.

Serving the “Forgotten Faithful”

One of my staff once made a presentation in a church that included information about a SAT-7 program made in Bethlehem.  When the talk concluded, a man came up and said, “There is such a thing as a Palestinian-Christian?  I thought that was an oxymoron (two words that cannot go together).”  Sadly, many people in the world still do not realize that we have brothers and sisters in Christ who live in Palestinian areas and all across the Arab world.

These are challenging and dangerous times. The near bankrupt state of much of the world’s economy has many thinking about the basic essentials of life. It’s somewhat sad to me that many people never think about foundational questions of life except when they face a crisis. The reality is that we never know what tomorrow holds; even if we possessed all the riches of the world they could not provide complete security.
But we, as God’s children through the life, death, and resurrection of his son Jesus, have assurance that we will be with Him
